1. The Magic of the Group Stage
Pure knockout tournaments can be brutal. Players travel, warm up, pay their entry fee, and if they lose their first matchโthey go straight home. The ultimate solution is the Groups + Bracket format.
- Guaranteed Playtime: Starting with a Round-Robin group stage ensures everyone gets to play multiple matches.
- Live Standings: Players can watch win percentages and point margins update in real-time on their phones, keeping everyone glued to the tournament.
- Completely Optional: Prefer a classic direct-elimination? You can skip the group stage entirely!
2. Pure Structural Flexibility
Every tournament is unique, and your software should adapt to youโnot the other way around. We've built the tournament engine to handle virtually any scenario:
๐ Single-Day or Flexible Schedules
Run your tournament in a single afternoon, or stretch it over a custom timeframe (like a month). For flexible schedules, players can chat and schedule their own matches directly on the app!
- Custom Group Sizes: Define the exact number of groups and the number of qualifiers per group.
- Direct Qualifiers: Have top-seed players who don't need to play in the group phase? Pass them directly into the bracket stage.
- Auto vs. Manual Assignments: Let the app automatically distribute teams into groups based on their community Elo, or manually override the draws to keep certain rivals apart.
- Late Joiners: Did a team show up right after you started? You can still add late joiners to an open group slot.
3. Seamless Knockouts & Placement Matches
When the group stage ends, the Admin just hits "Generate Bracket". The app automatically calculates the "Wildcards" (the best cross-group 3rd place finishers based on fair win ratios), seeds the players logically, and generates the beautiful visual tree.
Nobody goes home early
Just because a team lost in the Quarter-Finals doesn't mean their day is over. The bracket engine is fully configurable with Placement Matches. Choose from standard knockout, a 3rd-Place Match, rank the 5th-8th Quarterfinal losers, or run a "Full Classification" where every eliminated team enters a consolation bracket to determine their exact final rank.
4. Player Autonomy vs. Admin Control
Whether you want a fully automated digital community or prefer to manage everything from a single tablet, the app adapts to your management style:
- Total Player Autonomy: If players install the SliceWin app, they can self-report scores (requiring opponent validation), check schedules, and post match photos right from the court.
- Admin Control: Don't want players downloading an app? Admins can easily create "ghost players" and run the entire event from one device.
- Manage the Unexpected: If a player gets injured right before the Semi-Finals, Admins can seamlessly use the Swap Player or Forfeit tools without breaking the historical data of previous rounds.
Adapted to Any Sport or Game
The beauty of a modern, 100% free tool is that it isn't locked to just one activity. Admins define their own club's activity upon setup.
